Holidelic - EVERETT BRADLEY
If you’re tired of the same holiday music every year - GRAMMY-nominated percussionist Everett Bradley has a new single out to add to your playlists…
The “Unknown Legend” (Rolling Stone) has been a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, he’s currently with Bon Jovi and has played with EVERYONE — David Bowie, Hall & Oates, Carly Simon, Cyndi Lauper, Quincy Jones, Bobby McFerrin, Stomp & NBC's Meredith Vieira Show to name a few…
He returns this year as Funk’s Father Christmas, Papadelic (George Clinton + Santa Claus) in his beloved holiday funk revue Holidelic — going strong for almost 20 years now. The show is playing at NYC’s Lucille Lortel Theatre and runs through December 31 — to celebrate, Bradley has released a new single “Tinsel.”
In Holidelic, Bradley plays the role of Papadelic, Funk’s Father Christmas, an amalgamation of George Clinton and Santa Claus, featuring holiday-themed funk songs written by Bradley and brought to life by an array of top-shelf noise makers.
The show debuted in 2002 after Bradley released a holiday album called Toy. “After 9/11, I felt like we all needed to heal, and the way I was going to do that was by writing Christmas songs,” he explains. “Then I got the idea to combine two of my favorite things — Christmas and funk.” From the moment Bradley stepped onstage in a big furry white coat, sunglasses and 6-inch platform shoes, audiences went wild and have been selling out night after night ever since.
